The Parshall War Bonnet Parade kicked off on Saturday, March 19 at the Parshall Red Hall.

The event was heavily attended, with over 160 people joining in the festivities. There were nine drum groups and numerous dancers, with several tiny tots showing off their skills.

The event served as a cultural celebration before powwow season kicks off this summer. In addition to dancing, there were also basket auctions, with the largest selling for over $300. The event sought to raise money for the Parshall powwow committee.

Art Smith’s birthday celebration and the Little Shell War Bonnet Parade will be held concurrently on March 25-26 at the Northern Lights Building in New Town.
